Salmon Creek @ NE 199th St.

CAM Academy 7th grade science classes are part of the Clark Co. PUD's Salmon in the Classroom program. The images below are from the release site I've used since 2011 for the coho salmon fry we receive through the program. The location is at the bridge where NE 199th crosses over Salmon Cr., east of Hockinson, in the Venersborg area. During the Spring of 2013, there were some boys wading in the creek who helped release the salmon and shared some of their findings in the creek. I've posted other images of macroinvertebrates found in Salmon Creek, farther downstream near Hockinson, WA, from May 2004 through December 2005. This was another site we used to release salmon. To see some of the macroinvertebrates collected at this site in December 2005, with comments from Jeff Adams (Director of Aquatic Programs for The Xerces Society), go to the following page: Salmon Creek Macros - Dec 2005. Instructions: For a larger view of the specimens below, click on an image. The enlarged image will appear on your screen in a new window. Close this new window when you are through viewing it. |
